10 best moisturizers for oily skin, the cheap pick

By  |  17 Comments

I’ve searched the web for the best moisturizers for oily skin. From Daily Glow, Allure Magazine, Total Beauty, review sites and more reviews, I’ve come up with this list of affordable lucky items. I do hope this will help you find your one and only, the most loved and adored, best facial moisturizer for your oily skin and tight pockets.

1. Kiss My Face Moisturizer, Peaches & Cream 4.99$

from www.makeupalley.com

At only 4.99$ this product is a top pick for many who are on a tight budget but still looking for the best of the best in moisturizing. What makes it good for oily skin? It contains 4% of AHA that is especially good to exfoliate dead skin cells and unclog pores.

2. St. Ives COollagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer, $5.39

from www.amazon.com

Pick number 4 on TotalBeauty.com, unlike other products that are filled with countless benefits from which too few actually work, on St. Ives webpage you can only read one: “restores moisture”, that’s quite a short and simple claim however all the other claims (non-comedogenic, non-irritant, smooths fine lines) come from its users, like it’s suppose to. Check out the user reviews here and be amazed what 5 bucks can do for your skin.

3. Clean & Clear Oil-Free Dual Action Moisturizer, $5.99

from www.amazon.com

This little fellow is considered an inexpensive miracle worker when it comes to simply moisturizing your skin without having to cope with the greasy-feeling afterwards. Featured in DailyGlow as a best solution for oily skin it contains 0.5 % salicylic acid, or BHA, a known anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial acid. Here’s a good review that you can read.

4. Eucerin Everyday Protection Sensitive Skin Face Lotion SPF 30, $8.75

from www.img.walgreens.com

Recommended by DailyGlow as one of the best drugstore moisturizers for oily skin that contains sunscreen, SPF 30, it  is non-comedogenic with a non-greasy formula and fragrance-free good for sensitive skin. This product is recommended by dermatologists and also by the Skin Cancer Foundation as an effective sunblock.

5. Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream Night, $13.99

from www.neutrogena.com

Featured in DailyGlow under best drugstore night moisturizer for oily skin this is also an anti-wrinkle solution because it is formulated with Retinol, a rather trendy anti-aging ingredient. It is highly rated on epinions.com

6. Glycolix Elite Facial Cream Ultra Lite, 15$

from www.amazon.com

Recommended by Dr. Cynthia Bailey this is a very light glycerine moisturizer for acne prone and oily skin. Not only the reviews from DermaStore rate this product very highly but also the formulation contains ingredients with good moisturizing and ati-bacterial properties, and the first one is Aloe Vera.

7. On a Clear Day Oil-free Moisturizer Phylosophy, 22$

from www.allure.com

Recommended by Allure magazine, this is a moisturizing gel for adult acne. It hydrates the skin and has anti-bacterial properties.

8. Glycolix Elite Facial Cream 15%, 23$

from www.skinsciencestore.com

Also recommended by Dr. Cynthia Bailey, this moisturizer has 15% glycolic acid and it is ideal for users with oily skin who are looking for an anti-aging solution. The downside of a strong AHA-base product is that it may cause skin irritations. So, unless your skin gets easily irritated you’ve got yourself a good product to play around with.

9. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, 24$

from http://thepinkmixer.blogspot.com

Rated as best facial moisturizer for oily/combination skin on BestCovery.com this is an oil-free hydrating lotion that claims to visibly improve your skin tone. And, as Temptalia.com states, this is one of the few high-end brands that sells a moisturizer in a pump bottle. So thumbs up for the pump!

10. Boscia Oil-Free Daily Hydration SPF 15, 27$

from www.beautylish.com

This moisturizer holds the third position in 19 BEST FACE MOISTURIZERS rated with 9.1 by the TotalBeauty.com’s readers. As one of Sephora’s brands it is formulated without parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Petro-Chemicals and Phthalates and they like to think about themselves as the world’s first 100% preservative-free skincare brand. I don’t know about these big words but at least the product comes in a tube, it does have SPF 15 and people have praised its non-greasy, anti-aging and purifying properties. Read reviews here.

Based on the article I got the Glycolix Elite Facial Cream.

This is a great cream, I use 3-4 times a week, at night. There is no peeling or rash, just a light tingle to let you know its working.
I especially like the 20%, I’ve worked up from a 10% with another brand. Also note, this is a unbuffered glycolic acid in a very low ph solution, which gives you the full benefit without it being watered down; don’t forget to moisturize a few hours later.

I absolutely love your blog and find a lot of your post’s to be exactly I’m looking for. Would you offer guest writers to write content for yourself? I wouldn’t mind writing a post or elaborating on some of the subjects you write related to here. Again, awesome blog!

I am 36 with combination skin that occasionally breaks out, so I was looking for something that moisturizes without adding a bunch of extra oil. My wife (who is SO beautiful and also has combination skin) recommended the Lady Soma Renew Serum that she uses. This really works! My skin is feeling and looking better. I am so satisfied that I have recommended it to family and friends, something I rarely do. My wife always gets mistaken for someone who is at least 10 years younger than she really is. I imagine that is due to her taking good care of her skin and good genetics, but I must say that I think the hyaluronic acid in the Lady Soma Renew Serum helps to keep her (and me) moisturized and to keep the fine lines at bay.

Hi Anu, I don’t know if the products are available in India but for sure you can find them on Amazon or Ebay. I’ve personally used Clean and Clear, Neutrogena, Eucerin and Boscia from the list above and I if you need just a basic moisturizer I can recommend Clean and Clear, it’s pretty decent and cheap. If you want something with anti-aging properties maybe you can go for Glycolix Elite Cream. What are you using right now or what products have you used til now and didn’t like?

I don’t know about the others, but the Clinique moisturizing gel has sodium lauryl sulfate which makes my skin break out like crazy. It feels good and smells alright, but I just can’t use it. I will try some of the others though – Thanks!

If you’re like me, you probably have several bottles of half-used lotion in your bathroom cabinet that just don’t match up to the advertisement you saw on TV. And then I discovered Made from Earth’s Holistic HONEY Body Lotion. I first received it as a gift from my dad (I’m a girl) and I LOVED that it was ORGANIC and HEALTHY! Well, I was more than surprised when I first put Made from Earth on my skin. I haven’t used anything else on my skin for over a year now. The texture of this moisturizer is thick and smooth; it absorbs easily into your skin, leaving it moist but not greasy. I apply the Made from Earth Honey Lotion at night before going to bed and then very lightly in the morning and my skin stays moist all day. It’s great in the winter, especially if you live in a cold/dry area like I do. And the scent is mild enough that perfume/cologne can be worn without too many over-powering scents. To put it simply, this is the best lotion I’ve ever owned.
